BIG FINGERS NEED WIDE NECKS
If you seek advice because your fingers are big and its very difficult to play a chord cleanly you will usually keep getting the same advice. “You just have to keep practicing, keep trying and eventually you will be able to place your fingers in just the right place.”
This is good advice if your fingers 'seem' big but actually will fit between the strings. In time your fingertips will harden and you will find yourself not having to press so hard thus not squashing your fingertip, as a result you will find more room between your fingertips and the strings.
Some people who offer this advice seem to think it works for everybody, they quote names of famous guitarists that have big fingers suggesting "if they can do it you can do it".
Well THERE IS A LIMIT the most common width at the nut of a guitar neck is 1-5/8 to 1-11/16, I have been playing for over twenty years and I still find it IMPOSSIBLE to play chords on a neck that narrow.
